About This Blog

Welcome to Postcards from Leicester, the latest blogging endeavour brought to you by an American in Durham. While I am no longer living in Durham, I am still an American (at least I was the last time I checked). This blog will pick up where An American in Durham left off with our intrepid adventuress heading off to the city of Leicester to begin her PhD research.

If you were a reader of my last blog, you will notice that I have made a few changes to the format of this blog. Let's face it, being a PhD researcher is a different sort of beast when compared with the carefree life of a Master's student. I am going to be writing academic articles, conference papers, thesis chapters, and methodological reports like it's my job. (Well, it is my job, isn't it?) As such, I needed to take some of the pressure off of myself with regards to blogging. While a long post might work its way into Postcards from Leicester, that is really not the format I will be working with. Rather, I am going to be relying on photographs I take of my journey and short postcard length (see what I'm doing here?) captions to accompany them. It'll be more of a photo essay of my adventures here.

As always, I welcome new readers. If you like what you see and read here, please subscribe and please tell your friends. The only thing I ask is that if you use any content you find here, to please link it to my original blog.

Finally, follow me on Facebook by liking An American in Durham. I link new posts and sometimes to updates on the fly.

Happy travels and happy reading!
